Learning to pray actively is more than just thinking positively, or merely giving lip service to a higher power.  The Holy Bible is rich with examples of those who have turned actively and successfully to God in prayer for help in various challenging situations. The readings at our midweek prayer meeting (Wednesday, May 9th @ 6pm) will explore this subject.
