Interfaith Seder

During the recent Passover season seven members of Seventeenth Church participated in an Interfaith Seder hosted by Sacred Spaces partner, Chicago Sinai Congregation.  For many of the participants from Seventeenth Church it was their first Seder.  We learned about the tradition, history and contemporary Seder Meal commemorating the Hebrews’ Exodus from Egypt, made new acquaintances, and deepened connections with many friends we are getting to know through our participation in Downtown Chicago’s Sacred Spaces group.

Unifying Theme Meeting – March 24, 2013

Members of Seventeenth Church and friends who have united with this year’s unifying theme are invited to participate in a harvest meeting on Sunday, March 24th, from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

The meeting will include several creative activities designed to celebrate and lift up the many ways we have witnessed “seeing the Christ in one another” since adopting this theme at Seventeenth Church 15 months ago.

AGENDA

  • acknowledging the Christ-like qualities we appreciate about one another
  • appreciating the good works of our church committees & activities
  • gathering initial ideas about next year’s theme as well as potential activities

The gratitude and ideas shared at this harvest meeting will be collected and brought forward for the membership to discuss and act upon at the May member meeting.

Our meeting on March 24th will be held in the Sunday School room and begins at 11:30. It will conclude no later than 1:00 pm.

Come with a grateful heart and bring your ideas about the future & observations about the results of this past year’s unifying theme!
